Amazing Results With Injury Attorney Bissell

Client Review: "The first attorney that I hired for my accident case was one of those guys who advertises on TV.  I didn't know who to hire and made a bad choice.  When the insurance company made a low offer on my case, he told me to take it and that a jury would not consider my injury to be a big deal.  I needed a spine surgery and it seemed serious to me.  He did not want to fight for me, and made me feel bad for not wanting to take the first low-ball offer.  I was then referred to Todd by a friend of mine who had been a client of his. She spoke highly of him. I had Todd take the case over from the TV attorney.  Todd was always available to me.  He was very logical and compassionate, and talked me off from the ledge more than once when I was overwhelmed.  And he recovered for me every penny of two policy limits. That figure was about SEVEN TIMES what the TV lawyer wanted me to accept!  Needless to say, I'm glad I made the switch. Tina D. Mistake #2. Fail to Call a Tow Truck

If you car has damage that appears to make it unsafe to drive, call a tow truck.   If it has any rubbing, squeaking, leaking, or doesn't roll straight, call a tow truck even though it may not look like a total loss.  Driving your car away from the scene conveys to an insurance company that your accident was a minor one.

The 10 Biggest Mistakes You Can Make After A Car Accident:

1. FAIL TO CALL THE POLICE. You should call the police every time that you are in a car accident and request that they come to the accident scene and make a report. They may tell you that they will not come unless you need a tow truck or have an injury. Therefore, if you are having any symptoms at the scene, report those when calling the police, and they should send out an officer to take a report. Do not assume that the person who just admitted causing the accident will maintain that responsibility. Often their story will change if no one is there to put the blame on them. 10 Biggest Mistakes

My First Attorney Gave Up!

"The other driver was elderly and ran a red light when he crashed into my car. He told the police that he did not know what color the light was. He later changed his story and sued me, saying that I ran the red light! Because there were no witnesses, his insurance company refused to pay for my totaled car or for my injuries. My first attorney then dropped my case. My doctor recommended Todd Bissell who agreed to take on my case. Todd fought hard for me and took my case all the way to trial. After Todd won our pre-trial motions, the insurance company got reasonable and we were able to settle the case. Thanks Todd for sticking with me when my other attorney gave up on me."

A Verdict Of Almost $600K

"I was rear-ended, and the insurance company for the man who hit me said that my car was not damaged enough to cause the injuries that I had. I needed two surgeries, and the man's insurance company said that these injuries were not caused by the car accident despite that my doctors said that they were. My first attorney was not able to get the insurance company to offer me anything! I transferred the case to Todd at the recommendation of a friend. At one point, they offered me $250,000. Todd suggested that I reject that. When I did, the insurance company got nasty and reduced their offer to only $50,000, and never offered more. Two settlement judges suggested that I take this smaller amount. Todd told me not to and to keep fighting. We took the case to a jury trial and Todd recovered for me a verdict of almost $600,000! Todd also forced the insurance company to pay for my legal costs, the expert fees of my doctors who had to testify, and interest on the money that the insurance company refused to pay me. Todd kept fighting for me and never gave up. Thank you, Todd."

Grandmother Shieldes Children from Speeding Car

"SANTA ANA – A grandmother walking her grandchildren to school this morning was hit by a car while she shielded the two youngsters, the California Highway Patrol said.

The three were walking in a crosswalk east on Holt Avenue at Vanderlip Avenue, with vehicles stopped in the left lane, when the driver of a red Nissan Sentra that appeared to have been speeding slammed on the brakes, CHP Officer Devon Boatman said at the scene.

Seeing the approaching vehicle, she stood in front of the children, to block them from the impending collision. The woman slammed onto the hood of the car and then hit the ground, Boatman said.

The woman was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana for bruises and scrapes to her left side and for a possible broken limb, Boatman said. Several witnesses came to the aid of the woman.

One of the Most Dangerous Roads in the Country

Interstate 15 (or I-15) has long been considered one of the most dangerous roads in the US. In a 2005 MSNBC Dateline report, 1-15 was listed as the most dangerous high-speed road while a recent MSN list dubbed the infamous roadway as one of the "Highways to Hell." Over a five year period, 173 people died while traveling on Highway 15.

What makes the 125-mile stretch of highway between Las Vegas and Southern California so dangerous? It certainly is not the terrain - the land is flat and relatively risk free. Most reports point to driver behavior, including speeding, falling asleep at the wheel and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as the main causes for the high number of deaths on I-15. For some time, it was rumored that the road was not patrolled regularly by the police, encouraging more bad behavior by drivers in a hurry to get to the Strip for a weekend getaway or in a rush to return home.
